The Best Places To Live To Commute Into London

Dreaming of a new life in London but unsure of whether or not you’ll be able to afford rent in the capital? Starting a new life anywhere can be difficult financially in the beginning, which is why it often makes more sense to live outside the capital and commute there for purposes of work or socialising at the weekend. Fortunately, London is so vast that there are plenty of places to settle outside the city centre that are serviced by reliable transport links for commuters.

Wimbledon

A suburban region of southwest London, Wimbledon is famed as being the home of the eponymous tennis championships. The area is also renowned for the New Wimbledon Theatre. As well as being conveniently close to the city, Wimbledon also benefits from having its own interesting history and unique cultural attractions.

Woking

Situated within the county of Surrey, Woking is right at the southwestern perimeter of the Greater London Urban Area. A regular train service to the city boasts a journey time of only 24 minutes, making the town ideal for commuters who wish to work in the city whilst enjoying the lower rate of rent in Woking. The town also boasts its own attractions such as the Shah Jahan Mosque – the oldest mosque in England – and Woking Palace.

Stoke Newington

Stoke Newington forms part of the London Borough of Hackney and, as such, offers quick and easy access to the city centre via a multitude of transport links. The area has its own idiosyncratic culture which makes it stand out from other parts of Greater London as an interesting destination in its own right.
