Who are Taxback?

UK Tax Specialist

The definition of a tax refund (or sometimes known as a tax rebate) is a refund on taxes when the tax liability is less than the taxes paid’. Basically, if you’ve overpaid your tax to HMRC you can claim it back.

This includes if you’re travelling to temporary work locations and paying to get there.

Answer a few straightforward questions with us and we can tell you whether the expenses you’ve paid for your job mean that you’re overpaid your tax. This overpayment usually includes little things like if you pay to clean and repair your specialist clothing or other work-related expenses such as training courses and professional subscriptions. Without claiming, HMRC won’t know what you have paid out on and what you have potentially overpaid. It’s a complicated system and we can help.

How Taxback helps you on your Tax Refund or Rebate?

How do tax refunds works?

You may have overpaid tax to HMRC through a change in your work circumstances or being on the incorrect tax code. Since 1998, if you travel to temporary work locations you can claim tax back on travel expenditure no matter what your job is. If your employer doesn’t fully pay those travel expenses, you could be missing out on a tax refund from HMRC. This could be driving your own car or taking public transport, however you get there, you’re probably paying more than you should and you can claim this money back.
